I came across this definition of sin today. I found it very insightful so I thought I'd share it.

It's a quote from Suzanna Wesley, the mother of John Wesley, in response to her young child's question, "what is sin?"

"Whatever weakens your reasoning,
impairs the tenderness of your conscience,
obscures your sense of God, or
takes away your relish for spiritual things;
in short, if anything increases the authority and the power of the flesh over the Spirit, that to you becomes sin, however good it is in itself."

I heard it while listening to a sermon by Ravi Zacharias titled "Divided Heart, Divide Home" given 2006-03-19. Great sermon, here's the link to his archives if anyones interested...
