How can I get really burnt food off my glass pie pan?
I've got a Pyrex pie pan that is just covered in little brown spots all over. I've tried boiling water and soap to get it off. I've scrubbed the crap out of it, lol. Nothing seems to work. I've used dishwasher soap on other pots before. I don't want to damage the glass. Any help?
Steel wool won't scratch up the glass? I guess I really don't care, because I don't use it for pies anyways. I just thought that would ruin it. It's worth a try.
Wow.. no, I didn't try to boil water in a glass plate. Do people do things like that? lol. I boiled water, dumped it in the sink and added some soap, then scrubbed and scrubbed. Nothing. I've tried soaking it.
My mom used to swear by vinegar and hot water. When I've burned a pan, I usually end up soaking it in boiling hot soapy water with vinegar until it cools, then scrubbing with a plastic coated scrubber and repeating the process as often as I need to. You can also try some EZ Off oven cleaner if worse comes to worse.
